“Metamorphosis”
The process of a caterpillar changing into a butterfly is an incredible wonder in nature. The possibility of metamorphosis holds hopes and drives dreams. This mural was designed to provoke conversation about the possibilities that the future holds for the young people who painted it with us. “Metamorphosis” was designed by DAMA artist Alicia Rheal and painted with students from SAIL West. While working on the mural we asked students to share with us what they would like to become and what they needed to do to get there. Lots of futures were planned over this mural.
“Metamorphosis” measures roughly 8 x 15 feet and is painted with exterior grade house paint on Polytab fabric panels that DAMA artists can permanently install onto a variety of surfaces using acrylic gloss gel medium
