“Slow Down and…”

Sometimes we all need to remember to take our time and appreciate the moments that seem to fly by in our busy lives. This snail mural is an exercise in acknowledging the little things that we should slow down to appreciate. The mural was designed by DAMA artist Alicia Rheal and painted with the students at Memorial Quest and with various groups of students at the Lussier Center. DAMA artists asked the students, interns, volunteers, and general community to finish the statement: “Slow down and….”. We received close to 100 replies, most of which are written in the background behind the snail.

“Slow Down and…” measures roughly 8 x 15 feet and is painted with exterior grade house paint on Polytab fabric panels that DAMA artists can permanently install onto a variety of surfaces using acrylic gloss gel medium.
